V-Sense Medical
At Simtelligent, one of our core philosophies is to add massive value for our customers through innovation. What does this mean? It can mean many things; such as solving a problem, recommending solutions, or even improving a pre-existing process.
For our client, V-Sense Medical, we were able to recommend a solution to a problem that ultimately saved the startup firm approximately $50,000 dollars and four months! When they first came to us, they had asked if we could read through a 100-page document to implement algorithms in C. After looking over the requirements, we told V-Sense that it would take approximately six months to implement the algorithms if we followed the procedure that they had requested. This was the standard response that they had gotten from our competitors. So, what made them choose us?
V-Sense Medical chose Simtelligent because we offered an alternative solution that nobody else had thought to recommend. We looked at their goals and requirements and presented an alternative, strategic solution in conjunction with our standard solution. The alternative only took two months to implement opposed to six. While V-Sense did have many long-term goals, they also had short-term goals, with the most pressing goal being to develop a proof of concept that was strong enough for the firm to secure their next round of funding. As a direct result of working with Simtelligent, V-Sense was able to secure their funding, save four months of labor expenses and time, and get closer to their end goal of pushing their product to market.
Now, you may be asking yourself, how could Simtelligent possibly have cut the time of the project into a third of what it initially was? Our solution was simple- wrap their licensed system up into a web-accessible interface accessible via our cloud solution. This option was much quicker and more efficient than what the firm had initially imagined. Also, as our solution was not as costly, it allowed the firm some additional wiggle room within their budget. With the additional cash on hand, they were able to participate in additional marketing activities, ultimately creating more buzz about their product.
Imagine a vital sign monitor that does not need to be physically contacting a person to get an accurate reading. V-Sense Medical has built this device. In fact, the device was tested against a Fitbit, and the heart rate reflected by the Fitbit matched the heart rate reflected by the touchless vital sign monitor, Welbe. Other demos with the device have gone smoothly, as there has been ample positive feedback from the firm’s investors.
The firm has discovered other industries are interested in implementing their technology. Initially, the device was designed for people with aging parents who wanted to ensure the safety and well-being of their parents while they were not able to be physically present. Additional applications for this devices include thwarting potential escapes! There are many other possibilities and use cases for this device, and as we move towards the future, we should not only be discovering them, but seeing touch-free vital sign monitors in homes and even hospitals nationwide.
